centenarylogoIf you haven't already done so, please check that any out-of-date badges have been removed from your uniform.  The Centenary badge should now be removed, along with any remaining Denmark & Malawi badges.  If you went to Chamboree then you'll have something to cover up the blank looking bits - your Chamboree Knight & Subcamp badges!  The Cubs who visited Blair Atholl will also have a new badge to wear.

Have you missed us?  We're sorry we've been away so long.  Escouts, who provide the free Scouting web-hosting service that helped us get on to the web, have been having some server problems which have kept our site off-line for some weeks.  We finally decided it was time to move on, and have joined Lemonstorm (also provided by Scouters, but this time on a commercial footing).

Now we're back up and running we're over due some updates to the site which will start to appear over the next few weeks, including a blog from our contingent at Chamboree 2010 - an international camp in Cheshire from 31st July to 7th August. Just click the link in the top menu.  Sorry but you must be a logged-in member to see it.

Congratulations to Nadeem Beg, Drew Robertson & Raheem Beg on their selection as participants for the 2011 World Jamboree in Sweden.  Nadeem & Drew are ex-10th Scouts now with West Perth City Explorers (Drew is also a Young Leader with the 10th Scout Troup), and Raheem is in 10th Scouts.  They will join an expected 30,000 Scouts from around the world for the two week event in July/August of 2011.

Congratulations are
amy_hackett_smallalso due to two Leaders with 10th connections - Amy Hackett (a Leader with the 10th's Beaver Section) and Stewart Todd (a Leader with West Perth City Explorers) have been selected as part of the 25-stong Scottish contingent of the UK's adult volunteer team for the Jamboree.  Stewart was quoted in the Perthshire Advertiser in an article featuring this photo of Amy.  "I am really, really looking forward to going to Sweden next year.  I especially can't wait to try out all the activities that are going to be on offer.  I went to the World Scout Jamboree in Thailand as a participant and was so inspired by my Leaders at the time that it made me want to go again as a Leader myself."

Chief Scout Bear Grylls has congratulated all the selected volunteers, saying "While lots of people know that Scouting is all about adventure, they often don't realise that adult volunteers get to do just as much as our young members.  They are going to have an amazing time next year."
